About ACIGENE TABLET

ACIGENE TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called antacids used to treat acidity, heartburn, indigestion, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), and stomach upset. The stomach is usually protected from acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, the mucous layer gets eroded due to excess acid production, which leads to complications like acidity and heartburn.

ACIGENE TABLET is a combination of four drugs: Aluminium hydroxide, Magnesium hydroxide, Magnesium silicate and Simethicone. Aluminium hydroxide,  magnesium hydroxide and magnesium silicate belong to a group of antacids. Aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and magnesium silicate work by neutralising excess stomach acid. Simethicone is anti-flatulent which works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping).

Take ACIGENE TABLET as recommended by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as constipation, diarrhoea, dizziness, and drowsiness. Disease/Condition Glossary

The stomach is usually protected from the acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, the mucous layer gets eroded due to excess acid production, which leads to complications like acidity. Due to this, acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (esophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn. Symptoms include heartburn, sour or bitter taste in the mouth, and difficulty swallowing. Indigestion is the feeling of fullness. It occurs due to slow gastric emptying. Symptoms include stomach pain, bloating, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting.
