Zosa Junior Granules 1 gm

Zosa Junior Granules 1 gm is indicated in the symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis due to acid-mediated GERD in children. It is also indicated in the treatment of stomach ulcers.

Zosa Junior Granules 1 gm contains Esomeprazole, which inhibits gastric acid secretion by blocking the proton pump. Thus, it helps reduce the amount of acid in the stomach.

In some cases, Zosa Junior Granules 1 gm may cause side effects such as headache, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not give Zosa Junior Granules 1 gm to the child if they are allergic to any of its components. Inform the doctor if the child has kidney or liver problems. Let the doctor know if your child is taking any other medications, including herbal products or vitamin/mineral supplements.

• Avoid giving spicy, fried, or acidic food to the child.
• Give the child smaller meals throughout the day instead of larger meals.
• Encourage regular exercise to help the child maintain proper weight.
• Serve the evening meal early, at least 3 hours before bedtime.
• Limit fried and fatty food, chocolate, peppermint, caffeine, tea, citrus fruits and tomato products.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): GERD occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn. Symptoms of GERD in children include burping/belching, stomach pain, being fussy, nausea, heartburn, and regurgitation.

Erosive esophagitis: It occurs due to the reflux of gastric contents into the stomach, which leads to mucosal injury and damages the tissue lining the oesophagus. Symptoms include loss of appetite, irritability, and chest/belly pain.

Stomach ulcers: These are the sores that develop on the stomach lining. Symptoms include abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea, and indigestion.
