Yalithium XR Tablet is used to prevent and treat mood disorders like mania and bipolar disorder. It contains Lithium, which helps to treat mental disorders by increasing the activity of chemical messengers in the brain, thereby suppressing the excessive and abnormal activity of nerve cells in the brain and helping in stabilizing a person's mood. Some people may experience loss of appetite, dizziness, dry mouth, taste change, diarrhoea, blurred vision, slurred speech, shaky movements, increased thirst, and urination. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Yalithium XR Tablet

Yalithium XR Tablet is used to prevent and treat mood disorders like mania and bipolar disorder. Mania is a mental condition that causes intense excitement, high energy, and delusions (misbeliefs). Bipolar disorder is a mental condition associated with extreme mood swings ranging from the hyper stage of mania to low-mood depression.

Yalithium XR Tablet contains Lithium that helps to treat mental disorders by increasing the activity of chemical messengers in the brain, thereby suppressing the excessive and abnormal activity of nerve cells in the brain and helping in stabilizing a person’s mood.

Take Yalithium XR Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will advise how often you take Yalithium XR Tablet based on your medical condition. Some people may experience loss of appetite, dizziness, dry mouth, taste change, diarrhoea, blurred vision, slurred speech, shaky movements, increased thirst, and urination. Most of these side effects of Yalithium XR Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to Yalithium XR Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Yalithium XR Tablet . Regular blood tests are recommended while taking Yalithium XR Tablet to monitor the levels of lithium in blood. If you have fits, kidney or heart problems, thyroid, persistent headache, vision problems, and if you are planning or have had weight loss surgery, please inform your doctor before taking Yalithium XR Tablet .

What if I have taken an overdose of Yalithium XR Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Yalithium XR Tablet as too much Lithium may be dangerous. The symptoms include blurred vision, feeling or being sick, vomiting, fainting, sleepiness, lightheadedness, increased urge to urinate, lack of control over pee or poo, shaking or muscle weakness, muscle twitches, spasms or jerks affecting the face, eyes, neck or tongue, confusion and blackouts. If you suspect you have taken overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Drug Warnings

Regular blood tests are recommended while taking Yalithium XR Tablet to check lithium levels in blood. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Yalithium XR Tablet . If you have hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland), please inform your doctor before taking Yalithium XR Tablet as it may cause low thyroid levels. If you notice decreased amount of urine, dark, reddish urine, muscle pain or weakness, inform your doctor immediately as it may be due to a serious condition called rhabdomyolysis (muscle tissue breakdown) which may lead to kidney problems.

Yalithium XR Tablet should only be started if sufficient facilities are available for evaluating Yalithium XR Tablet levels as increased blood levels of Yalithium XR Tablet is related to Yalithium XR Tablet toxicity. Even at dose which is effective for treatment, Yalithium XR Tablet toxicity can occur.
