Xymet P Nasal Spray is used in the treatment of nasal congestion in children. Nasal congestion /stuffy nose can be defined as the swelling of the tissue lining due to the inflammation of the blood vessels inside the nose. This causes difficulty for your child in breathing. Xymet P Nasal Spray helps provide relief from stuffy noses caused by various allergic reactions in children. It helps to relieve discomfort and unpleasant symptoms, like blocked/runny nose, that occur due to allergic conditions, cold and flu-like symptoms, and hay fever.
Xymet P Nasal Spray contains Xylometazoline belonging to the class of 'decongestants'. It works by narrowing the blood vessels (vasoconstriction) and thus provides temporary relief from nasal congestion and blockage. This helps your child to breathe more easily.
Xymet P Nasal Spray may cause certain side effects, such as nasal dryness, headache, diarrhoea, mild irritation at the application site, and headache. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your pediatrician. Xymet P Nasal Spray should be used as advised by your doctor.
Xymet P Nasal Spray is intended for pediatric use only. Avoid giving Xymet P Nasal Spray if your child is allergic to it. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition, including his current medications and medical history, to rule out any side effects/interactions. Inform your paediatrician if your child has undergone any recent trans-nasal surgery (brain surgery where the operation was carried out through the nose or mouth), has any history of narrow-angle glaucoma, atrophic rhinitis (chronic nasal inflammation with dry nasal passages), liver/kidney disease as this medicine is contraindicated in such children. Xymet P Nasal Spray is not recommended for use in infants below one year of age as the safety and efficacy are not established. This medicine is used for nasal application only. Avoid the application of Xymet P Nasal Spray for other uses.
