Virazide 100mg Capsule belongs to a class of drugs called antivirals used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Virazide 100mg Capsule is used in combination with other medicines. Hepatitis C is a severe liver infection caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV). It is contagious (spreads from one person to another) and spreads through contact with the infected person’s blood.

Virazide 100mg Capsule contains Ribavirin, an antiviral drug that works by inhibiting the action of viral RNA (genetic material) that is essential for the virus to multiply. Thereby, it stops the virus from making new viruses and helps in reducing the amount of hepatitis C virus in the body.

Take Virazide 100mg Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Virazide 100mg Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dizziness, fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, or loss of appetite. Most of these side effects of Virazide 100mg Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Virazide 100mg Capsule or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Virazide 100mg Capsule is not recommended for children below 3 years of age. Drug-Drug Interaction: Virazide 100mg Capsule may interact with medicines used to treat HIV/AIDS (stavudine, zidovudine, didanosine), and immunosuppressant (azathioprine).

Drug-Disease Interaction: Avoid taking Virazide 100mg Capsule if you have any blood disorder or had a heart attack. If you have anemia, depression, severe eye disorders, dental disorders, HIV/AIDS or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking Virazide 100mg Capsule.

• Include plenty of vegetables and fruits, whole grains such as brown rice, oats, quinoa and barley.
• Eat lean protein such as skinless chicken, fish, beans and egg whites.

• Drink plenty of water for better processing of food by the body.
• Avoid sugary foods such as cake, cookies, packaged baked food or soda. Also, avoid heavy salt foods.
• Avoid foods containing saturated fats such as fried foods, fatty cuts of meat, sour cream, butter and other high-fat dairy products as they may lead to weight gain and result in fatty liver.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption as they may increase the risk of liver damage.

Regular blood tests are recommended while taking Virazide 100mg Capsule to monitor blood, liver and kidney functioning.
