Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel belongs to the class of aminoglycoside antibiotics. It is used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections. Bacterial eye infection occurs when harmful bacteria invade any eye part, such as the eyeball, conjunctiva, or cornea.
Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel contains tobramycin, an antibiotic that works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. Thus Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel treats bacterial eye infections.
Use Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel as prescribed by your doctor. The common side-effects of Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel are eye irritation, feeling of having something in the eye, swollen/itchy eyelids, eye redness, increased tearing and inflammation of the cornea (clear front portion of your eye). Most of these side effects fade away gradually over time without the need for medical intervention. However, consult your doctor if you experience these side effects frequently.
Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel is for ophthalmic (eye) use only; do not inject or swallow. Do not use Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel if you are allergic to tobramycin, other aminoglycoside antibiotics, or any components in Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, notify your doctor. Tromacyn Ophthalmic Gel may temporarily blur your vision; therefore, wait until your vision is back to normal before using any machinery or driving.
