About Tritofen Syrup

Tritofen Syrup is an antiallergic medicine used in the treatment of allergies. It helps provide relief from various allergic reactions in children. An allergic reaction is a response that occurs when foreign particles enter the body. This allergic reaction may vary from person to person.

Tritofen Syrup contains Ketotifen, which is an anti-allergic medicine. It works by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger called ‘histamine. This chemical messenger is naturally involved in allergic reactions. Ketotifen helps to relieve discomfort and unpleasant symptoms like blocked/runny/itchy nose, red/watery eyes, and skin rashes that occur due to allergic conditions.

Tritofen Syrup may cause certain side effects such as abdominal pain, nervousness, irritation, insomnia, etc. These side effects do not require medical attention and graduallya resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your paediatrician. Tritofen Syrup should be given as advised by your child’s doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose to the child. Tritofen Syrup can be given with or without food. Your paediatrician will decide on the dose of the medicine depending on the severity of the allergic symptoms.

Tritofen Syrup should be avoided if your child is allergic to it. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition, including his current medications and medical history, to rule out any side effects/interactions. If your child has any liver or kidney diseases, inform your doctor before using Tritofen Syrup.
