About Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's
Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's is used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). It helps lower blood pressure, thereby reducing the chances of heart problems such as heart attack and stroke. High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels.
Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's belongs to the group of anti-hypertensive medicines. It is a combination of three drugs: Metoprolol tartrate, Amlodipine, and Telmisartan. Metoprolol tartrate slows the heart rate and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. Amlodipine acts on the calcium channels of the blood vessels and suppresses the contraction of blood vessels, helping the blood flow smoothly. Telmisartan works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor, thereby relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure. Together, they help lower high blood pressure.
Take Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's as prescribed. You are advised to take Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has recommended it, depending on your medical condition. Sometimes, Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's may cause common side effects such as tiredness, oedema (fluid retention), hypotension (low blood pressure), feeling faint on standing due to low blood pressure, headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, stomach pain and constipation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
If you are allergic to Metoprolol, Amlodipine, Telmisartan or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to consult a doctor before taking Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's. Complete the entire course of medication and do not stop taking Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's suddenly, as it may cause recurring symptoms or worsen the condition. Avoid drinking alcohol with Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's as it may increase the blood pressure-lowering effect of Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's. Drive only if you are alert, as Telma-Beta AM Tablet 10's may cause dizziness or tiredness.

Hypertension (High blood pressure): Hypertension is a chronic condition in which blood pressure is too high. This condition can lead to hardened arteries (blood vessels), decreasing the blood and oxygen flow to the heart. Raised blood pressure can cause chest pain (angina) and heart attack (when the blood supply to the heart is blocked). Additionally, high blood pressure also causes brain damage (stroke) and kidney failure. Normal blood pressure lies between 90/60 mm of Hg and 120/80 mm of Hg.
