Tasigna 150Mg Capsule belongs to the class of anticancer drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors used in the treatment of Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CML). Ph+ CML is a type of blood cancer that causes white blood cells to behave differently.

Tasigna 150Mg Capsule contains Nilotinib which works by blocking the action of an abnormal protein (Bcr-Abl tyrosine kinase) produced by an abnormal Philadelphia chromosome that signals abnormal white blood cells (cancerous cells) to multiply. Thereby, it stops the multiplication and inhibits the growth of cancerous cells and then causes the death of these cells.

Take Tasigna 150Mg Capsule as prescribed. You are recommended to take Tasigna 150Mg Capsule for as long as your doctor has advised it for you based on your medical condition. Sometimes, Tasigna 150Mg Capsule may cause common side effects such as vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, headache, constipation, tiredness, and muscle and joint pain. Most of these side effects of Tasigna 150Mg Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Nilotinib or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid taking Tasigna 150Mg Capsule if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. You are recommended to use effective contraceptive methods while taking Tasigna 150Mg Capsule and for two weeks after completing the course of Tasigna 150Mg Capsule. Tasigna 150Mg Capsule is not recommended for children below one year of age. Drive only if you are alert as Tasigna 150Mg Capsule may cause dizziness or visual disorders as side effects in some people. If you have yellow skin and eyes, dark-coloured urine, or stomach pain while taking Tasigna 150Mg Capsule, contact your doctor immediately, as these might be symptoms of liver problems.

In chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients, a change in genetic material (DNA) triggers a signal that tells the body to produce more abnormal white blood cells (cancerous cells). Nilotinib works by blocking this signal and thus stops the production of cancerous cells. Tasigna 150Mg Capsule is used in adults and children with newly diagnosed Ph+ CML in the chronic phase and in adults with Ph+ CML in the accelerated and chronic phase who did not tolerate or no longer benefit from other treatments, including Imatinib.

Some children and adolescents may have slower than normal growth while taking Tasigna 150Mg Capsule. Therefore, your doctor will monitor the growth of your child at regular visits. Drive only if you are alert as Tasigna 150Mg Capsule may cause dizziness or visual disorders as side effects in some people. Tasigna 150Mg Capsule may increase the risk of liver problems, especially in people with a history of liver problems. Therefore, if you have yellow skin and eyes, dark-coloured urine, or stomach pain while taking Tasigna 150Mg Capsule, contact your doctor immediately, as these might be symptoms of liver problems. Inform your doctor if you have a severe problem with lactose (milk sugar) or other sugars as Tasigna 150Mg Capsule may contain lactose. Most people who have mild or moderate lactose intolerance can take Tasigna 150Mg Capsule. Avoid taking Tasigna 150Mg Capsule if you have low levels of magnesium or potassium in the blood or long QTc syndrome. If you have had a surgical procedure involving the removal of the entire stomach (total gastrectomy), inform your doctor before taking Tasigna 150Mg Capsule.
