Synaptol SR 300 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as centrally acting muscle relaxants used to treat acute musculoskeletal pain (pain within the body starts from muscles, bones, or joints). Acute musculoskeletal pain is pain perceived within an area of the body and assumed to occur from the muscles, joints, or bones in that area. Excluded from the definition is pain due to severe local causes, such as fractures, tumours, or infections, and general and neural reasons.

Synaptol SR 300 Tablet contains  Tolperisone, a muscle relaxant. It works on the spinal cord and centres in the brain to relieve contraction or muscle stiffness without a decrease in strength. It increases the supply of blood to the muscles. This improves the movement and pain of muscles.

Take Synaptol SR 300 Tablet as prescribed. You are advised to take Synaptol SR 300 Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. You may experience certain common side effects, such as dizziness, sleepiness, diarrhoea, sweating, abdominal pain, and weakness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before taking this Synaptol SR 300 Tablet inform your doctor if you have any allergies, myasthenia gravis (weakness in muscles), asthma, and hay fever. If you are pregnant, think they may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you should talk to your doctor for advice before taking this Synaptol SR 300 Tablet . If you are a breastfeeding mother, immediately contact your doctor.

If you have hypersensitivity: flushing, rash, wheezing, severe itching of the skin, difficulty in breathing with or without swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and/or throat, difficulty in swallowing, low blood pressure, fast heartbeat, fast decrease in blood pressure. Feeling these symptoms taking this Synaptol SR 300 Tablet should be stopped immediately and the doctor or the nearest emergency department contacted immediately. If you are pregnant, think they may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby should talk to your doctor for advice before taking this Synaptol SR 300 Tablet . If you are a breastfeeding mother immediately contact your doctor.

• Take it with a glass of milk or after food.

• Synaptol SR 300 Tablet may cause sleepiness or dizziness. Do not drive or do anything needing concentration until you know how it affects you.

• Avoid drinking alcohol when taking Synaptol SR 300 Tablet as it may cause too much drowsiness.

• Do not stop taking Synaptol SR 300 Tablet suddenly without informing your doctor if you have been on it for a long time.
