Segpod-CV Tablet is used to treat various bacterial infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis (throat infections), otitis media (ear infections), sinusitis (infection of the sinuses), community-acquired pneumonia, gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), anorectal infections in women, skin, and urinary tract infections. It contains Cefpodoxime and Clavulanic acid, which kills the bacteria and helps to treat bacterial infections. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Segpod-CV Tablet contains Cefpodoxime (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefpodoxime works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thus, it kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Cefpodoxime against the bacteria. Together, Segpod-CV Tablet helps to treat bacterial infections.
Take Segpod-CV Tablet with food. The dose and duration of Segpod-CV Tablet can vary depending on your condition and the severity of the infection. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Segpod-CV Tablet should not be given to patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance (the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption).
