Secbact 1000mg Tablet is used to treat various infections caused by bacteria and parasites (amoeba). Secbact 1000mg Tablet is used to treat various infections caused by bacteria and parasites (amoeba). It is prescribed for the treatment of diarrhoea caused by microorganisms Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia. Additionally, it also treats vaginal and other bacterial infections. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria enter, multiply, and infect our bodies. It can target any body part and multiple very quickly. Parasite (amoeba) infection is an intestinal (bowel) illness caused by a parasite (amoeba) known as Entamoeba histolytica spread through human faeces (poop).

Secbact 1000mg Tablet enters the bacterial cell as a prodrug without an antimicrobial activity. Secbact 1000mg Tablet is converted to an active form by bacterial enzymes. Secbact 1000mg Tablet slows the growth or sometimes kills the harmful bacteria and parasites (amoeba) that cause infections by damaging their DNA. It is bactericidal and works by killing bacteria that cause infections. Secbact 1000mg Tablet does not treat a viral infection like flu or a common cold.

Take Secbact 1000mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Secbact 1000mg Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical conditions. You may experience headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vaginal itching, and vaginal yeast infection. Most of these side effects of Secbact 1000mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Directions for Use

Tablet: Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.Granules: Check the label for directions before use. Mix the granules in water, mix well and drink immediately.

Immediately contact your doctor if you are a breastfeeding mother, you may stop this Secbact 1000mg Tablet for at least 4 days after your last dose. Immediately talk to your doctor if you have rashes and swelling occurs after taking this Secbact 1000mg Tablet. If you have blood disease or a history of blood disorders, and epilepsy then inform your doctor before taking this Secbact 1000mg Tablet. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery after taking Secbact 1000mg Tablet as it may cause side effects.

  • If you have diarrhoea try to drink appropriate amounts of fluids to avoid dehydration.

  • If the diarrhoea is more severe, specially formulated rehydration drinks should be taken.
