Premature labour happens when consistent contractions result in the opening of the cervix after week 20 but before week 37 of pregnancy. Preterm labour can result in premature delivery. Symptoms include leaking fluid or bleeding from the vagina, pressure in the pelvis, and cramps that feel like menstrual cramps regularly. 

Ritodine 10mg Injection contains ‘Ritodrine’, which belongs to a class of medications called ‘uterine relaxants’. It is a tocolytic agent which prevents preterm labor by suppressing uterine contractions. It works by improving blood flow to the smooth muscles of the uterus. This effect helps to decrease the intensity and frequency of uterine contractions, thereby delaying labor.

Ritodine 10mg Injection will be administered by a qualified healthcare professional. The common side effects are injection site reactions, headache, blurred vision, chest pain or tightness, dizziness or light-headedness, dry mouth, increased urination, loss of appetite, feeling sick, being sick, sleepiness or drowsiness, stomach-ache or abdominal pain, tiredness and unusual thirst. These side effects usually go away without requiring any treatment. However, if these side effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor immediately.

Before taking the Ritodine 10mg Injection, let your doctor know about all your sensitivities and all medications you are using. The presence of additional medical issues may impact the use of this medication, so inform your doctor if you have any other medical issues, including diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), migraine, heart or blood vessel disease, or thyroid issues. It is recommended not to take alcohol while Ritodine 10mg Injection therapy.

It helps suppress uterine contractions, thereby delaying the delivery, decreasing the risk of miscarriage, and preventing immature birth.

Before taking the Ritodine 10mg Injection, inform your doctor of all your medical problems, sensitivities, and drugs. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), migraine headaches, overactive thyroid and heart or blood vessel disease, inform your doctor. It is not advisable to consume alcohol while undergoing Ritodine 10mg Injection treatment. If you have difficulty breathing, notify your doctor immediately since it could be a sign of pulmonary oedema (fluid build-up in the lungs) or a heart condition. In such instances, the doctor may temporarily suspend therapy.
