About Richdox Plus Syrup

Richdox Plus Syrup belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Richdox Plus Syrup does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Richdox Plus Syrup contains Cefpodoxime proxetil, which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Richdox Plus Syrup works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Richdox Plus Syrup kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.

In some cases, Richdox Plus Syrup may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), and abdominal pain. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Let the doctor know if your child is allergic to any of the components in Richdox Plus Syrup. Keep the doctor informed about your child's health condition and medications to rule out any unpleasant side effects/interactions.

FAQs

Richdox Plus Syrup is used to treat bacterial infections.
Richdox Plus Syrup works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. This kills the bacteria and helps in treating bacterial infections.
Richdox Plus Syrup may cause diarrhoea. If the child experiences diarrhoea, give them water and non-spicy food. Consult a doctor if the condition persists or worsens.
To treat the condition effectively, it is recommended that the course of Richdox Plus Syrup be completed even if the child feels better. Leaving it in between may lead to a severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance).
