About Ribamax 200 mg Capsule

Ribamax 200 mg Capsule belongs to a class of drugs called antivirals used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Ribamax 200 mg Capsule is used in combination with other medicines. Hepatitis C is a severe liver infection caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV). It is contagious (spreads from one person to another) and spreads through contact with the infected person’s blood.

Ribamax 200 mg Capsule contains Ribavirin, an antiviral drug that works by inhibiting the action of viral RNA (genetic material) that is essential for the virus to multiply. Thereby, it stops the virus from making new viruses and helps in reducing the amount of hepatitis C virus in the body.

Take Ribamax 200 mg Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Ribamax 200 mg Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dizziness, fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, or loss of appetite. Most of these side effects of Ribamax 200 mg Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Ribamax 200 mg Capsule or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Ribamax 200 mg Capsule is not recommended for children below 3 years of age. Avoid taking Ribamax 200 mg Capsule if you are pregnant as it may cause birth defects. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before taking Ribamax 200 mg Capsule . It is recommended to use effective contraceptive measures to avoid pregnancy while using Ribamax 200 mg Capsule and for 7 months after stopping treatment with Ribamax 200 mg Capsule .
