Regen D 60 Gel is used in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, bedsores, chronic leg ulcers, and vascular ulcers. A diabetic foot ulcer is an open wound in diabetic patients that occurs due to uncontrolled diabetes. It appears as a red crater on the skin. It mostly affects the bottom or top of the foot and the tip of the toe.
Regen D 60 Gel contains recombinant human epidermal growth factor, which is a protein that stimulates cell growth. It acts by releasing a growth factor that can promote tissue repair, skin regeneration (formation of healthy skin), and accelerate wound healing. These effects help to reduce skin ulcers in diabetic foot ulcer patients.
Regen D 60 Gel is meant for external use. Regen D 60 Gel should be applied as a thin layer with a sterile cotton swab. In some cases, Regen D 60 Gel may cause certain common side effects such as headache, nausea, rash, stomach pain, and pruritis. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist.
It is advisable to inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of the components in Regen D 60 Gel. Avoid Regen D 60 Gel if you are immune-compromised, pregnant or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you are on treatment with corticosteroids, immunosuppressants or immunostimulators. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medications. Discuss your entire vaccination history with your doctor.
