Pruderm Cream is a combination medication used to treat bacterial and fungal skin infections. A bacterial skin infection occurs when bacteria enter the body through broken skin. A fungal skin infection happens when a fungus attacks the tissue, leading to infection.
Pruderm Cream contains three active ingredients: Beclomethasone (a steroid), Econazole (an antifungal), and Neomycin (an antibiotic). Beclomethasone works by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation and redness in the skin. Econazole kills or prevents the growth of fungi and yeast. Neomycin acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, ultimately leading to the death of bacteria. Together, Pruderm Cream effectively treats skin infections.
In some cases, Pruderm Cream may cause side effects such as skin irritation, itching, burning sensation, redness, and rash. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
Before using Pruderm Cream, please inform your doctor if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Avoid using Pruderm Cream in large amounts for an extended period or in combination with other topical medications. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Use Pruderm Cream in children only if prescribed by a doctor. Avoid contact with the nose, ears, mouth, or eyes; if Pruderm Cream accidentally comes into contact with these areas, rinse thoroughly with water.
