Prolovas-T 50 Tablet belongs to the class antihypertensive agents used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also be used to lower the risk of heart attack and stroke in future. High blood pressure is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high leading to hypertension. Symptoms of high blood pressure include headache, dizziness, nose bleed, changes in vision, chest pain, weakness and dyspnoea (shortness of breath).
Prolovas-T 50 Tablet is a combination of two high blood pressure-lowering medicines: Telmisartan and Metoprolol. Telmisartan belongs to the class of drugs called Angiotensin II receptor antagonists that works by blocking the angiotensin II receptor, relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure. Metoprolol belongs to the class of drugs known as beta-blockers which reduces blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more smoothly. Together, Prolovas-T 50 Tablet helps in reducing the raised blood pressure.
