Prenura Plus Capsule is a combination medicine used to treat neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease which causes nerve pain due to damage of sensory nerves. Symptoms include spontaneous, untriggered pain, unpleasant feeling, shooting, burning or stabbing pain, difficulty resting or sleeping and evoked pain (pain caused by events that are usually not painful).
Prenura Plus Capsule contains Pregabalin (Anti-convulsant), mecobalamin (vitamin), alpha-lipoic acid (anti-oxidant) and folic acid (vitamin). Pregabalin works by binding to the specific site on voltage-gated calcium channels, this helps relieve nerve pain. Mecobalamin helps in the rejuvenation and protection of damaged nerve cells by producing a substance called myelin. Alpha-lipoic acid helps in providing a protective effect on the nerve tissues and the brain. Folic acid helps in providing essential nutrients to the nerves. Together, Prenura Plus Capsule helps in providing relief from neuropathic pain.
You are advised to take Prenura Plus Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, dry mouth and oedema. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Prenura Plus Capsule may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Prenura Plus Capsule is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol with Prenura Plus Capsule as it could lead to increased dizziness and sleepiness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.
Prenura Plus Capsule is a combination of four drugs: Pregabalin, mecobalamin, alpha-lipoic acid and folic acid. Prenura Plus Capsule is used to treat neuropathic pain. Pregabalin is an anti-convulsant that affects the chemicals in the brain that send pain signals across the nervous system. It works by binding to the specific site on voltage-gated calcium channels, this helps relieve nerve pain. Mecobalamin is a vitamin that helps in the rejuvenation and protection of damaged nerve cells by producing a substance called myelin. Alpha-lipoic acid is an anti-oxidant which helps in providing a protective effect on the nerve tissues and brain. Folic acid is a vitamin that helps in providing essential nutrients to the nerves. Together, Prenura Plus Capsule helps in providing relief from neuropathic pain. Additionally, Prenura Plus Capsule may also be used to treat diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia and postherpetic neuralgia.

Neuropathic pain: Neuropathic pain is caused due to damage to sensory nerves. It is caused by chronic progressive nerve disease or due to infection or injury. The pain could be intermittent or continuous, which is felt as a prickling, stabbing, tingling or burning sensation. A feeling of numbness and loss of sensations is also common with neuropathic pain. Usually, the body sends the pain signals when there is an injury, but with neuropathic pain, the pain is not triggered by an injury; the body unpromptedly sends the pain signals.
