About Pregamax M 75 Capsule

Pregamax M 75 Capsule is used for the management of neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to nerve damage or a malfunctioning nervous system. Symptoms of neuropathic pain include shooting, and burning pain followed by tingling and numbness (loss of sensation). Neuropathic pain can be caused by amputation of limbs, diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage due to excess blood sugar level), excessive alcohol intake (alcoholism) and cancer treatment via chemotherapy.

Pregamax M 75 Capsule is a combination of five drugs: Pregabalin (anticonvulsant), Methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), Benfotiamine (vitamin B1), Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and Folic acid (vitamin B9). Pregabalin affects the chemicals in the brain that send pain signals to the nervous system, thereby relieving nerve pain and lowering the risk of seizures (fits). Methylcobalamin and Pyridoxine help rejuvenate and protect damaged nerve cells by producing a substance called myelin. Benfotiamine and Folic acid help deliver essential nutrients to the nerves. Together, Pregamax M 75 Capsule provides relief from neuropathic pain.

In some cases, Pregamax M 75 Capsule may cause side effects like dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, nausea and vomiting. Most of these side effects of Pregamax M 75 Capsule do not require medical attention and resolve over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Please do not stop taking Pregamax M 75 Capsule without consulting your doctor, as it could cause withdrawal symptoms. Consult your doctor before taking Pregamax M 75 Capsule if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Pregamax M 75 Capsule may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Pregamax M 75 Capsule should not be given to children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Pregamax M 75 Capsule as it could lead to increased dizziness and drowsiness. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and the medicines you are taking to rule out any side effects.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Neuropathic pain: It is a nervous disorder that occurs due to nerve damage caused by chronic progressive nerve disease, limb amputation, diabetes or due to infection or injury. The pain could be intermittent or continuous, felt as a prickling, stabbing, tingling or burning sensation. A feeling of numbness and loss of senses is also common with neuropathic pain. Usually, the body sends the pain signals when there is an injury, but with neuropathic pain, the pain is not triggered by an injury. Symptoms include spontaneous, un-triggered pain, unpleasant feeling, shooting, burning or stabbing pain, difficulty resting or sleeping and evoked pain (pain caused by events that are usually not painful).
