Podowart Paint is a combination medicine used to treat warts. Warts are small, fleshy bumps on the skin or mucous membrane. It is a type of skin infection caused by Human papillomavirus (HPV). Warts are contagious; they can spread from person to person.
Podowart Paint contains Podophyllum Resin, Benzoin, Aloes, Ethanol, Methanol and Isopropyl Alcohol. Podowart Paint works by destroying the tissue growth and leading to tissue death. When applied, the wart becomes blanched, begins to slouch/come off and gradually disappears. Thereby, Podowart Paint helps in treating warts.
Podowart Paint is for external use only. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the application site. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Avoid using Podowart Paint if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Podowart Paint is a potent cytotoxic agent and can cause serious side effects and damage if not used exactly as advised by the doctor. Inform your doctor if you are taking any prescription/nonprescription medicines or herbal products before starting Podowart Paint. Handle Podowart Paint carefully as it is a strong irritant to the skin and mucous membrane.
