Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Pecol 250mg Capsule does not work against infections caused by viruses, including colds and flu.
Pecol 250mg Capsule contains Chloramphenicol, which works by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins necessary for vital bacterial functions. Thus, it kills the bacteria and helps treat and prevent the spread of infections. Pecol 250mg Capsule is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
The dose of Pecol 250mg Capsule can vary depending on your condition and the severity of the infection. In some cases, you may experience common side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and headache. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems. Chloramphenicol may cause grey baby syndrome (a condition in which the baby’s skin appears grey); please consult your doctor if you have any concerns. Pecol 250mg Capsule is not recommended for use in children.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Inform your doctor if you are taking antidepressants, anti-epileptics, proton-pump inhibitors, anticoagulants, immunosuppressants, chemotherapeutic drugs, benzodiazepines, azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, statins, anti-arrhythmic agents, antivirals, and Phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors.
