It is used to treat infertility in women in the following situations: To stimulate egg release from the ovaries (ovulation) in women who are not ovulating, including those with polycystic ovarian disease and who have not responded to therapy with clomiphene citrate; To aid in developing numerous follicles and thus eggs in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) or other methods of 'assisted conception'. The eggs are then removed from the body and fertilized outside of it. On the other hand, Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection is used to treat infertility in males who have a low sperm count (oligospermia).

Like all medicines, Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. In some cases, Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection may cause reactions at the injection site (such as pain, redness, bruising, swelling and/or itching), overstimulation of the ovaries resulting in high levels of activity (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome), pelvic pain, nausea (feeling sick), vomiting (being sick), diarrhoea, weight gain and pain or swelling of the stomach. These side effects are usually mild and temporary. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Do not use Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients of Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection or if you have a tumour in your pituitary gland and you have a tumour in the hypothalamus. Also, if you are a woman, do not use Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection if you have tumours of the womb (uterus), ovaries, breasts or parts of the brain like the pituitary gland or hypothalamus; if you have sacs of fluid known as cysts on your ovaries (ovarian cysts) or enlarged ovaries (unless caused by polycystic ovarian disease), if you have any physical defects of the womb (uterus) or other sexual organs, if you suffer from bleeding from the vagina where the cause is not known if you have fibroids (benign tumours) of the womb (uterus) if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you have experienced early menopause. Also, if you are a man, do not use Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection if you have cancer of your testicles and you have prostate cancer. So, let your doctor know about all your medical conditions.

Before receiving Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection, inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any medicines. Inform your doctor about your complete medical and medication history before receiving Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection to rule out any side effects. Consult your doctor if you experience stomach pain or swelling, nausea or vomiting, diarrhoea, weight gain, difficulty breathing, or decreased urination (producing less urine). Inform your doctor immediately, especially if the symptoms appear many days after the last injection. These are symptoms of excessive ovarian activity, which can be severe. If these symptoms worsen, the infertility therapy should be stopped, and you should be hospitalized.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection interacts with certain medications used in fertility treatment to prevent premature ovulation (e.g. ganirelix).

Drug-Disease Interactions: Ovutas HP 150 IU Injection potentially interacts with various disease conditions such as a tumour in your pituitary gland, have a tumour in the hypothalamus, tumours of the womb (uterus), ovaries or breasts, bleeding from your vagina for an unknown reason, enlarged ovaries that are not due to polycystic ovarian disease, early (premature) menopause, certain physical problems in your reproductive organs (womb, fallopian tubes, ovaries or cervix), hysterectomy (womb has been removed), fibroid tumours, cancer of your testicles, prostate cancer, adrenal dysfunction, and thyroid dysfunction.
Female Infertility: When a woman cannot become pregnant within a year of trying without the use of contraception, then the condition is called female infertility. If a woman gets pregnant but experiences miscarriages or stillbirths, it is also included in infertility. It can occur due to ovulation disorders (problems with ovaries), fallopian tube damage, and uterus or cervix problems. The risk factors can be age, being overweight or obese, smoking, alcoholism, and the presence of sexually transmitted infections.
