About Ocuvir 5% Skin Cream

Ocuvir 5% Skin Cream is primarily used to treat herpes simplex virus infections of the skin. It is used to treat genital herpes and herpes labialis/cold sores (herpes simplex virus infections of the lips and face).

Ocuvir 5% Skin Cream contains Aciclovir, which is an antiviral medicine. It works by killing and stopping the growth of the herpes simplex virus.

Ocuvir 5% Skin Cream is for external use only. Common side effects of Ocuvir 5% Skin Cream include dry/cracked lips, flaky skin, and temporary burning or stinging sensation. These side effects may not occur in every patient using this medication and gradually resolve over time. If the side effects persist longer or worsen, please seek a doctor's advice.

Let your doctor know if you are allergic to any medications. Ocuvir 5% Skin Cream is not intended for use on the mucous membranes, in the eye or inside the mouth or nose. Ocuvir 5% Skin Cream treats viral infections of the skin caused by the herpes simplex virus. It consists of Aciclovir, an antiviral drug. It works by killing and stopping the growth of the herpes simplex virus.

Directions for Use

Ocuvir 5% Skin Cream is for external use only. Take a small amount on the fingertip and apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid contact with the nose, mouth or eyes. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly. Wash your hands before and after application to prevent the spread of infection.
