Nervijen-P Capsule is used to manage neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to nerve damage or a malfunctioning nervous system. Symptoms of neuropathic pain include shooting and burning pain followed by tingling and numbness (loss of sensation). Neuropathic pain can be caused by amputation of limbs, diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage due to excess blood sugar level), excessive alcohol intake (alcoholism) and cancer treatment via chemotherapy.

Nervijen-P Capsule is a combination of five drugs: Pregabalin (anticonvulsant), Methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), Benfotiamine (vitamin B1), Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and Folic acid (vitamin B9). Pregabalin affects the chemicals in the brain that send pain signals to the nervous system, thereby relieving nerve pain and lowering the risk of seizures (fits). Benfotiamine and Folic acid help deliver essential nutrients to the nerves. Together, Nervijen-P Capsule provides relief from neuropathic pain.

Take Nervijen-P Capsule as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you take Nervijen-P Capsule based on your medical condition. A person taking Nervijen-P Capsule might experience side effects like dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, nausea and vomiting. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects. Nervijen-P Capsule can cause life-threatening breathing problems in patients with COPD and asthma. So a person with long paused breathing, blue-colored lips, or sleeping disorder should inform the doctor before use of Nervijen-P Capsule .

Drug-Drug Interactions: Nervijen-P Capsule may have interaction with other anti-convulsant medications (gabapentin, phenobarbital, phenytoin), antidepressant medications (amitriptyline, duloxetine, mirtazapine, fluoxetine, sertraline), pain killer medications (codeine, fentanyl, hydrocodone, morphine, oxycodone, tramadol), anti-anxiety medications (diazepam, alprazolam), anti-diabetic medications (metformin), immunosuppressant medications (methotrexate), anti-rheumatoid medications (sulfasalazine), antibiotic medications (neomycin, chloramphenicol), anti-cancer medications (altretamine), and anti-Parkinson’s medications (levodopa).

Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking Nervijen-P Capsule as it might cause increased dizziness and sleepiness.

Drug- Disease Interactions: Nervijen-P Capsule may have interactions with disease conditions such as suicidal tendency, chronic pulmonary insufficiency, heart problems, liver/kidney impairment angioedema, peripheral oedema, malabsorption, and anemia.

• Using essential oils for massages can help increase circulation.

• Nervijen-P Capsule contains Pregabalin, prolonged intake of pregabalin may lead to mental or physical dependence. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition.

• Nervijen-P Capsule may rarely have serious side effects like suicidal thoughts, consult your doctor immediately if you face any such side effects.

• Your doctor may advice you to maintain a healthy diet as Nervijen-P Capsule may cause weight gain.

Neuropathic pain: It is a nervous disorder that occurs due to nerve damage caused by chronic progressive nerve disease, limb amputation, diabetes or due to infection or injury. The pain could be intermittent or continuous, and it could feel like a prickling, stabbing, tingling, or burning sensation. A feeling of numbness and loss of senses is also common with neuropathic pain. Usually, the body sends the pain signals when there is an injury, but with neuropathic pain, the pain that is not triggered by an injury, the body sends the pain signals. Symptoms include spontaneous, un-triggered pain, unpleasant feeling, shooting, burning or stabbing pain, difficulty resting or sleeping and evoked pain (pain caused by events that are usually not painful).
