About Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml

Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml is a combination of steroids and antibiotics primarily used to treat eye inflammation caused by uveitis, eye injury, chemical burns, radiation, or certain other conditions. It is also used when there is a risk of bacterial infection in or around the eye. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (the white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.

Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml is a combination of two drugs: Neomycin (antibiotic) and Dexamethasone (steroid). Neomycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that inhibits the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers, thereby killing bacteria. On the other hand, Dexamethasone belongs to the class of steroids that inhibit the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling in the eyes. Thereby, it reduces redness and swelling caused by bacterial infections.

Use Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml as prescribed by your doctor. Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml is only for external use. You are advised to use Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience irritation, redness, itching, burning or stinging sensation, the sensitivity of eyes to light, eyelid swelling, or itching. Most of these side effects of Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Directions for Use

Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops as advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate eye drops.

Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml contains Neomycin and Dexamethasone. Dexamethasone is a steroid that works by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling.
You are recommended to wash your hands first and tilt your head back and gently pull the lower eyelid downwards. Then, squeeze the bottle gently by holding it upside down to instil the number of drops into the affected eye as advised by your doctor without touching the tip of the bottle to the eye or surrounding areas to avoid contamination. Finally, replace the cap tightly after use. After applying Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml, you are advised to close your eyes for a minimum of 2 to 3 minutes and pressure should be applied to the corner of the eye by pressing a finger to stop eye drops from spreading into the rest of the body.
You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml as it may cause adverse effects. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before applying Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml and reinsert after 15 minutes of using Neodex 0.1% Eye Drops 5 ml.
