Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops is used for temporary relief from nasal congestion (stuffy nose) caused by hay fever (allergic rhinitis), common colds, flu, sinusitis, or other allergic sinusitis in children. Nasal congestion, a stuffy nose, occurs when nasal passages become swollen with excess mucus and fluid.

Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops contains Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride, a nasal decongestant that works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels in the linings of nasal passages. Thus, Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops provides relief from congestion and decreases mucus production.

Use Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to use Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your child's medical condition. The common side effects are irritation or dryness of the nasal mucosa (tissue lining the nasal cavity), local burning sensation, headache, and nausea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or you notice any unusual symptoms developing in the child, inform your doctor immediately.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops may interact with antidepressants (e.g. imipramine, desipramine, amitriptyline), ergot alkaloids (e.g. ergonovine, dihydroergotamine, ergotamine) and MAO inhibitors (e.g. linezolid, selegiline, tranylcypromine).

Drug-Food Interactions: Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops may interact with caffeine. Therefore, avoid or limit caffeine consumption (chocolate, tea, coffee, colas and some herbal supplements), with Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects such as sleep problems, rapid heartbeat, nervousness, nausea or tremor. 

Drug-Disease Interactions: Nasivion 0.025% Paediatric Nasal Drops may interact with disease conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, enlarged prostate gland, narrow-angle glaucoma or heart disease.

• Staying hydrated is vital for those with a cough or cold. Drinking liquids at room temperature can alleviate cough, runny nose, and sneezing.
• To stay fit and safe, sleeping 7-9 hours each night helps.
• It is advised to avoid contact with known allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc. Certain food items are known to cause allergies.
• Maintain personal hygiene and keep your child's surroundings clean.

Nasal congestion: Nasal congestion, or stuffy nose, occurs when nasal passages become swollen with excess mucus and fluid.
