Myosone 50 Tablet belongs to the class of medications called ‘antispasmodics’ used to treat muscle spasms. Muscle spasm is the sudden painful and involuntary muscle contractions which occur when the nerve impulses that control the muscle movements are damaged or interrupted. It is characterized by muscle tightness, joint stiffness, unusual posture, difficulty moving, and pain in affected muscles and joints.

Myosone 50 Tablet contains ‘Eperisone’, which belongs to the class of antispasmodics. It works by relaxing skeletal muscles and reducing myotonia (inability of muscles to relax). It can relax vascular smooth muscles (muscle found in the wall of blood vessels) and improve blood circulation. It can also suppress pain reflexes. These effects of Myosone 50 Tablet help to reduce pain and spasms in the muscle effectively.

Myosone 50 Tablet is available in the form of tablets. You should take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The common side effects of Myosone 50 Tablet are nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, headache, weakness, drowsiness and dizziness. These side effects are mild and temporary. However, inform your doctor immediately if any of these side effects persist or get worse.

It is not recommended to take Myosone 50 Tablet if you are allergic to Myosone 50 Tablet or any other contents. It is also not recommended for breastfeeding women. Before taking Myosone 50 Tablet , inform your doctor if you have any liver disease or are pregnant. Myosone 50 Tablet is not recommended for use in children. Elderly patients may require dose adjustments. Myosone 50 Tablet may not interact with alcohol. Myosone 50 Tablet may cause dizziness, so do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you feel dizzy.

Myosone 50 Tablet is a muscle relaxant that also shows an analgesic effect. It reduces muscle stiffness and spasticity, enabling the movement of muscles easily. It is usually well tolerated when taken at recommended doses. Though it causes drowsiness, this effect has a very low incidence with Myosone 50 Tablet compared to other antispasmodic drugs. It can be used during rehabilitation (restoring functional ability in people with physical disabilities) as it can allow voluntary movement of the upper and lower extremities without using muscle power.

Myosone 50 Tablet may cause liver damage, so it should be used cautiously in patients with liver diseases. If you notice dizziness, sleepiness and weakness, you should refrain from activities that require you to stay alert, such as driving or operating heavy machinery. Also, inform your doctor if these effects are persistent or worse, the doctor may make dose adjustments based on the severity of side effects.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Myosone 50 Tablet may interact with a muscle relaxant (methocarbamol) and cause accommodation in the eye (increase in the eye's optical power to view an image clearly).

Drug-Disease Interactions: Myosone 50 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver impairment.

• Exercising regularly helps in muscle stretching so that they are less likely to spasm, tear, and sprain. Mild exercises such as jogging and walking are helpful for muscle stretching.
• Deep tissue massages with the help of a muscle massager are considered helpful.
• Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes; instead, wear loose garments.
• Rest well and get optimal sleep (at least 8 hours for adults).
• Hot or cold therapy can help treat muscle spasms.
• Apply an ice pack or hot-pack on the muscle for 15-20 minutes.
• Try to include glycine (protein) in your daily diet, which is good food for your muscle.

• Your doctor may advise you to undergo regular blood tests to monitor liver function while using Myosone 50 Tablet .
