Modoc Cream belongs to the class of medicines called ‘corticosteroids’ used to reduce inflammation (swelling), itchiness and redness caused by certain skin problems called dermatitis or psoriasis. Dermatitis is a common skin condition associated with dry, itchy, or swollen skin. Psoriasis is a condition in which skin cells multiply faster than normal, resulting in white scales and itchy, dry patches.
Modoc Cream contains Mometasone, a potent corticosteroid that works by acting inside skin cells and inhibiting the release of certain inflammatory substances in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such substances are released normally.
Use Modoc Cream as prescribed. You are advised to use Modoc Cream for as long as your doctor has recommended it based on your condition. Modoc Cream is for external use only. Avoid contact of Modoc Cream with nose, mouth, or eyes. In case Modoc Cream comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience inflamed hair follicles, acne, thinning of the skin, itching, stinging, tingling or burning sensation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Mometasone or other medicines. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using Modoc Cream. Modoc Cream is not recommended for children for long-term use as it may lead to slow growth. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice vision changes after using Modoc Cream. Stop using Modoc Cream and contact your doctor if your skin becomes sensitive or irritated. Do not cover or wrap the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor. Avoid using Modoc Cream for more than five days in children and on the face. Avoid using Modoc Cream in or around the eyes, including eyelids. Do not use Modoc Cream on large areas of the body or for a longer duration.
