Metrofgen Mango Flavour Suspension 60 ml is an antidiarrheal medicine used to treat diarrhea in children. Diarrhea is defined as loose, watery and frequent bowel movements. This can be acute (temporary) or chronic (long-lasting). Most times, diarrhoea can occur due to various types of bacteria.

Metrofgen Mango Flavour Suspension 60 ml is a combination medicine containing Ofloxacin (quinolone antibiotic), Metronidazole (antimicrobials), and Simethicone (digestive enzyme). Ofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA replication by attaching to an enzyme known as DNA gyrase. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that are responsible for causing infections. It inhibits the protein synthesis interacting with DNA. Simethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping).

Do not stop giving this medicine even if your child feels better. Complete the full course as prescribed.

• Include more fiber-enriched food in your child’s diet, as it can be easily digested by your gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth.
• Fiber foods may help restore healthy gut bacteria after a course of antibiotics.
• Avoid giving too much calcium, or iron-enriched foods, as it might affect the working of Metrofgen Mango Flavour Suspension 60 ml. 
• Make your child drink more fluids to avoid dehydration.
• Do not make your child drink or eat a lot of caffeine-containing products such as cola or chocolate. Metrofgen Mango Flavour Suspension 60 ml may increase nervousness, sleeplessness, and anxiety.
