Lynx Activ Gel belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat acne vulgaris (pimples). Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles are blocked with dead skin cells and oil. The acne-causing bacteria feeds on sebum (natural oil produced by skin) causing redness and swelling.

Lynx Activ Gel contains Lincomycin, a topical antibiotic that works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thus, it stops or slows down the growth of bacteria and clears acne. 

Lynx Activ Gel is only for external use. Avoid contact of Lynx Activ Gel with nose, ears, mouth or eyes. In case Lynx Activ Gel comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with warm water thoroughly. Your doctor will advise you how often you use Lynx Activ Gel based on your condition. In some cases, you may experience skin dryness, redness, itching, burning sensation, pigmentation, and scaling. Most of these side effects of Lynx Activ Gel do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Lynx Activ Gel is used in the treatment of Mild to moderate acne (pimples). The detailed uses of Lynx Activ Gel are as follows:

• Treat bacterial skin infections: Lynx Activ Gel is primarily used to manage infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Pneumococcus, including impetigo, boils, and infected wounds.
• Control acne vulgaris: Lynx Activ Gel is effective in treating mild to moderate acne by inhibiting the growth of Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria responsible for acne lesions.
• Manage superficial skin inflammation: Lynx Activ Gel helps reduce redness, swelling, and discomfort in localized bacterial skin conditions.

• Apply the medication exactly as directed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily, depending on the severity of the infection.
• Apply a thin layer to the affected area and gently rub it in until fully absorbed.
• Avoid applying the medication to broken or irritated skin and do not apply near the eyes or mucous membranes.
• Wash your hands before and after applying the medication to prevent spreading the infection.
• Do not cover the treated area with a tight bandage unless instructed by your doctor.
