About Leekuf-SF Syrup

Leekuf-SF Syrup belongs to a class of medications called ‘expectorants’ primarily used to treat dry cough. Additionally, Leekuf-SF Syrup also treats allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, throat irritation or watery eyes. Coughing (dry or productive) is the body’s way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs, namely: Dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn't produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways.

Leekuf-SF Syrup is a combination of four drugs, namely: Guaiphenesin (expectorant), Dextromethorphan hydrobromide (cough suppressant), Phenylephrine hydrochloride (decongestant) and Chlorpheniramine maleate (antihistamine). Guaiphenesin belongs to the expectorant class that increases the volume of fluid in the airways, reduces the stickiness of mucus, and removes it from the airways. Dextromethorphan hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that works by blocking the transmission of nerve signals from the cough centre in the brain to the muscles that produce cough. Thus, it decreases the need to cough. Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a decongestant that works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels. Thereby providing relief from congestion and decreasing mucus production. Chlorpheniramine maleate belongs to the class of antihistamines (anti-allergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions.

Take Leekuf-SF Syrup with or without food as advised by your doctor with the help of a measuring cup. Your doctor will recommend how often you take Leekuf-SF Syrup based on your medical condition. Some people may experience nausea, stomach upset, vomiting, loss of appetite, drowsiness, headache, diarrhoea, dizziness or skin rash. Most of these side effects of Leekuf-SF Syrup do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Leekuf-SF Syrup or any other medicines. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Leekuf-SF Syrup .
