KETONATE CREAM is a dermatological medication primarily used to treat skin infections (bacterial and fungal) with associated inflammation. Bacterial skin infection occurs when bacteria penetrate through hair follicles or the broken skin and cause infection. Symptoms include redness, pain, tenderness of the skin, minor bumps or boils, rashes, blisters, cracked/dry skin, swelling, stinging or burning sensation, pus formation, and itching. Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Symptoms of a fungal infection include skin rash, irritation, redness and scaling of the skin.

KETONATE CREAM is composed of Ketoconazole (antifungal), Beclomethasone (steroid) and Neomycin (aminoglycoside antibiotic). Ketoconazole stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. Beclomethasone (Beclometasone) is a corticosteroid that blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy. Neomycin works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply, and increase in number, thereby preventing the growth of bacteria.

KETONATE CREAM shows some side effects. These include itching, dryness, redness, and a burning sensation at the application site. These side effects usually disappear with time and do not require medical attention. However, if the side effects are persistent, please consult your doctor.

Do not use KETONATE CREAM if you are allergic to any ingredients in this medication. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use unless recommended by the doctor. Make sure KETONATE CREAM does not contact your eyes, nose, or mucous membrane while applying it.
