Kerasol F Lotion belongs to a class of drugs called 'keratolytic agents' used to treat skin conditions like warts and remove calluses and corns. Verrucas and warts are small excessive growths of skin that are caused by a virus. Warts occur on the back of hands or fingers whereas verrucas occur only on the sole. Corns and calluses are thick, hard pads of skin caused by friction and pressure that usually occur on the feet due to poor-fitting shoes.
Kerasol F Lotion is a combination of two keratolytic agents, namely: Lactic acid and Salicylic acid. Kerasol F Lotion works by breaking down a skin protein known as keratin and removes dead skin cells, thereby softening skin. Kerasol F Lotion acts as an acid exfoliant that softens and dissolves the keratin. Besides this, it also helps to slow down the shedding of skin, thereby allowing the skin to function longer before flaking off. Thus, Kerasol F Lotion softens and dissolves keratin (skin protein) and prevents acne formation and further bacterial skin infections.
Use Kerasol F Lotion as advised by your doctor. Kerasol F Lotion is only for external use. You are advised to use Kerasol F Lotion for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience a burning sensation, itching, scaling, skin dryness, mild tingling sensation, or tenderness at the application site. Most of these side effects of Kerasol F Lotion do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Kerasol F Lotion or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Kerasol F Lotion. Avoid applying to surrounding healthy skin, especially in children as it may irritate. You need not cover the treated area with sticking plaster. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames as they can catch fire and burn easily. Do not apply Kerasol F Lotion on cuts, grazes, and broken skin.

If left untreated, warts and verrucas grow and spread as the virus is highly infectious and can be contagious (spread from person to person).
