Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet is used to prevent rejection of a transplanted organ such as a liver, kidney, or heart. Organ rejection occurs when a patient’s immune system recognizes the donor organ as foreign and tries to eliminate it.
Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet contains Tacrolimus, which works by suppressing the activity of T and B lymphocytes (cells in the immune system) that normally attack foreign invaders and defend the body against foreign cells and infection. Thus, it prevents organ rejection in transplanted patients and helps the body in accepting the new organ.
Take Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet as prescribed. You are advised to use Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience nausea, diarrhoea, headache, kidney problems, infection, fever, constipation or high blood pressure. Most of these side effects of Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Tacrolimus or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet . Avoid alcohol consumption with Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet . Drive only if you are alert, as Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet may cause some people vision problems or nervous disturbances. If you are about to get vaccinated, inform your doctor before taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet . Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet may increase the risk of infections or skin cancer as it lowers the body’s immune defence system.
Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet contains Tacrolimus, an immunosuppressant used to prevent organ rejection after a transplant. Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet suppresses the activity of T and B lymphocytes (cells in the immune system) that normally attack foreign invaders and defend the body against foreign cells and infection. As a result, it helps the body accept the new organ and prevents organ rejection in patients who have had organ transplants.
Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Tacrolimus or other medicines. If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet . Avoid alcohol consumption with Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet . Drive only if you are alert, as Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet may cause vision problems or nervous disturbances in some people. If you are about to get vaccinated, inform your doctor before taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet . Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet may increase the risk of infections or skin cancer as it lowers the body’s immune defence system. While taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet , you are advised to wear protective clothing and sunscreen while going out. You are recommended to use glass or metal materials to prepare the oral suspension. Avoid using plastic (PVC) materials to prepare the suspension, as the granules will stick to a plastic container, and your child may not receive their full dose. Do not inhale or let the granules or prepared oral suspension come in contact with your skin or eyes. In case of accidental contact with skin, wash the area well with soap and water, and if it comes in contact with the eyes, rinse with plain water.
Drug-Drug Interaction: Inform your doctor if you are taking immunosuppressant (cyclosporine, sirolimus), anti-HIV drugs (nelfinavir), anticonvulsants (phenytoin), antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole, voriconazole), antibiotics (erythromycin, clarithromycin), diuretics (triamterene, amiloride) and other medicines.
Drug-Food Interaction: Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet may interact with St. John’s Wort (a herbal supplement to treat depression). Avoid taking grapefruit and grapefruit juice with Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet as it may cause serious side effects. Also, avoid consumption of alcohol with Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet .
Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have liver, kidney or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet .
Liver and Heart transplant:
Regular blood tests and certain other tests are recommended while taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet to check blood sugar levels, kidney functioning and potassium levels in the blood.
Organ rejection: It occurs when a patient’s immune system recognizes the donor organ as foreign and tries to eliminate it. Organ rejection may be hyperacute (occurs in minutes to hours), acute (occurs within the first few months), or chronic (occurs after a year or time beyond). The symptoms of organ rejection may vary based on the type of organ transplant you have had. However, if you experience pain, fever, or other signs of illness, contact your doctor immediately.

Pregnancy
Caution
Using Tacrolimus during pregnancy may cause kidney dysfunction or neonatal hyperkalemia (high potassium levels in the blood). Therefore, please consult a doctor if you are pregnant before taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet and if you are a woman of childbearing age, use effective contraceptive methods while using Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet .
Breast Feeding

Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet may be excreted in breast milk. Therefore, please inform your doctor if you are a breastfeeding mother before taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet . You should avoid taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet during breastfeeding or avoid breastfeeding while on treatment with Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet .
Driving
Caution
Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet may cause vision problems or nervous disturbances in a few people. Therefore, avoid driving if you experience any of these symptoms after taking Imunotac 0.5 mg Tablet .
