Gumex-S Gel is used for treating tooth sensitivity (dentin hypersensitivity) and dental cavities. About Gumex-S Gel

Gumex-S Gel belongs to a class of dental products used for treating tooth sensitivity (dentin hypersensitivity) and dental cavities. Gumex-S Gel reduces the sensitivity and pain that occur while having hot and cold food items thereby making teeth stronger to prevent formation of cavities in future. A dental cavity is a  permanently damaged area in the teeth that develop into holes or tiny openings.

Gumex-S Gel contains two active ingredients namely: Sodium monofluoro phosphate and Potassium nitrate. Sodium monofluoro phosphate helps by making teeth stronger and resistant to decay caused by bacteria and acid. On the other hand, potassium nitrate calms the teeth' nerves and reduces sensitivity to hot and cold food items. Collectively, they both help in preventing dental cavities and treating dental cavities. 

Gumex-S Gel is for external (dental) use only. Use Gumex-S Gel as advised by a dentist.  Please do not use an excessive amount of Gumex-S Gel and also avoid swallowing it. Avoid contact with your eyes; if you accidentally touch your eye, please wash your eye immediately. Gumex-S Gel is generally safe and does not have any side effects. But, if you experience any allergic reactions like rashes, swelling, or itching, please consult your doctor immediately. Also, drink tap water as it contains fluoride, which reduces the chances of dental cavities. If you drink bottled water, you might miss out on the fluoride present in tap water.

Do not take Gumex-S Gel if you are allergic to its ingredients, Sodium monofluoro phosphate or Potassium nitrate. Use Gumex-S Gel within 6 months after opening this dental paste. Teeth cavities should not be left untreated as it may lead to serious complications even in children who have milk teeth. If you have kidney problems, bone or joint problems, or ulcers, please inform your doctor before taking Gumex-S Gel.

Directions for Use

Gumex-S Gel should be used instead of regular toothpaste on a soft toothbrush and brush for at least 1 minute. After brushing, spit out the medication; do not swallow it.

Gumex-S Gel is generally safe and does not have any side effects. But, if you experience any allergic reactions like rashes, swelling, itching, please consult your doctor immediately.

Do not take Gumex-S Gel if you are allergic to its ingredients, Sodium monofluoro phosphate or Potassium nitrate, have or ever had kidney problems, bone or joint problems, or ulcers. Please inform your doctor before taking Gumex-S Gel. Use Gumex-S Gel within 6 months after opening the cream. Teeth cavities should not be left untreated as it may lead to serious complications like weight loss, nutrition imbalance, even in children who have milk teeth. Gumex-S Gel should be used instead of regular toothpaste on a soft toothbrush and brush for at least 1 minute.   • Brush your teeth thoroughly for at least 1 minute twice a day exceeding not more than 3 times a day, or as recommended by the dentist.
  • Do not take too hot or too cold food or drinks as it might increased sensitivity of your teeth.
  • Brush your teeth, preferably after each meal, to prevent cavities.
  • Minimize the intake of sugary drinks as it may cause teeth more prone to cavities.
  • Visit a dentist often and get regular checkups done.
  • Avoid junk food and eat freshly prepared home-cooked food for a speedy recovery.
  • Also, drink tap water as it contains fluoride, which reduces the chances of dental cavities. If you drink bottled water, you might miss out on the fluoride present in tap water.

Special Advise

Let your dentist or doctor know if the fluoride (mineral) content in your drinking water is more than or equal to 0.6 parts per million (ppm). If you have stained teeth (mottled teeth) tell your dentist or doctor as it may be a sign of high fluoride in your body (dental fluorosis).
