It is also indicated in the treatment of multiple actinic or solar keratoses of the face and anterior scalp. It may also be useful in the treatment of superficial basal cell carcinoma. Flonida 1% Cream contains ‘Fluorouracil’, which works by destroying cancerous and pre-cancerous cells whilst having little effect on the normal cells.
Do not use Flonida 1% Cream if you are allergic to any of its components, if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or if you are breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have reduced or no activity of the DPD (dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase) enzyme or if you are using medicines to treat chickenpox or shingles (brivudine, sorivudine) or have used them in the last four weeks. Avoid contact with Flonida 1% Cream by eyes or mouth. Take special care while applying Flonida 1% Cream around the eyelids, nose, or lips. Do not use the cream on open cuts as it can lead to too much absorption of cream into the bloodstream, leading to harmful effects. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames as the fabric (clothing, bedding, or dressing) that has been in contact with Flonida 1% Cream burns easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing the fabric may not totally remove it, but it might reduce product build-up.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Flonida 1% Cream may interact with medicines used to treat chickenpox or shingles (brivudine, sorivudine).
