About Figomet-SR 1 Tablet

Figomet-SR 1 Tablet used to treat type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a group of anti-diabetic medicines called biguanides. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic or lifelong disorder that affects the way our body processes glucose. Figomet-SR 1 Tablet is prescribed for the condition of type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone have not been enough to control the blood glucose levels.

Figomet-SR 1 Tablet contains Metformin, which works by decreasing the amount of glucose absorbed from the food and the amount of glucose made by the liver. What if I have taken an overdose of Figomet-SR 1 Tablet

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Figomet-SR 1 Tablet as it may cause overdose leading to lactic acidosis (too much lactic acid in the body). The symptoms include stomach pain with muscle cramps, vomiting, reduced body temperature, difficulty in breathing, and heartbeat and a general feeling of not being well with severe tiredness. If you suspect you have taken overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately as lactic acidosis may lead to coma.
