Amoebiasis: It is a parasitic infection of the colon caused by Entamoeba histolytica. It spreads through contaminated water. Symptoms include fever and bloody stools.
Giardiasis: It is an intestinal infection caused by giardia parasite. It spreads through contaminated food/water or by person-to-person contact. Symptoms might be watery diarrhoea alternating with greasy stools, fatigue, cramps, and belching wind.
Trichomonas vaginitis: It is a sexually transmitted infection caused by parasites. Multiple sexual partners and unprotected sex are the risk factors. Symptoms include foul-smelling vaginal discharge, painful urination, and genital itching.
Diarrhoea: Diarrhoea is characterised by loose and watery stools. The causes of diarrhoea include food intolerance, food allergy, adverse reactions to any medicine, viral infection, bacterial infection, intestinal disease, parasitic infection, and stomach or gallbladder surgery. The symptoms of diarrhoea include nausea, abdominal pain, cramps, dehydration, bloating, frequent urge to empty the bowels, and watery stools.
