About Eldizem-60 mg Tablet

Eldizem-60 mg Tablet is used to treat mild to moderate hypertension (high blood pressure). It is also indicated in the management of chronic stable angina and angina due to coronary artery spasms. High blood pressure is a condition in which the blood exerts increased pressure on the walls of blood vessels, leading to hypertension. Angina or chest pain occurs due to reduced blood flow to the heart, which is caused by narrowing or blockage of the heart's arteries (coronary artery).

Eldizem-60 mg Tablet contains 'Diltiazem', which works by relaxing the blood vessels in the heart and thereby reducing the raised blood pressure. Eldizem-60 mg Tablet  eases anginal chest pain by preventing the narrowing of blood vessels and dilating the coronary arteries. As a result, Eldizem-60 mg Tablet helps treat/prevent high blood pressure and angina.

Take Eldizem-60 mg Tablet with or without food. You are advised to take Eldizem-60 mg Tablet as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as swelling in the hands, feet, and ankles, headache, dizziness, palpitations, constipation, and indigestion. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Regular monitoring of blood pressure, electrolyte levels, and kidney function is advised while taking Eldizem-60 mg Tablet . Eldizem-60 mg Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid taking Eldizem-60 mg Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; talk to your doctor; he/she may prescribe you an alternate medicine. Eldizem-60 mg Tablet is not recommended for children as efficacy and safety have not been established. Medicinal Benefits

Eldizem-60 mg Tablet belongs to the group of anti-hypertensive medicines called calcium channel blockers used to treat mild to moderate hypertension (high blood pressure). It is also indicated in the management of chronic stable angina and angina due to coronary artery spasms. Eldizem-60 mg Tablet works by inhibiting the movement of calcium ions across the heart muscle and smooth muscle linings of the blood vessels, thereby relaxing and widening the narrowed blood vessels, making it easier for the blood and oxygen to reach the heart. This, in turn, helps in lowering the blood pressure and the risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Eldizem-60 mg Tablet  eases anginal chest pain by preventing the narrowing of blood vessels and dilating the coronary arteries.
