Derisone Respicaps is combination medication primarily used to treat or prevent asthma symptoms like chest tightness, shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing (whistling sound while breathing). Asthma is a chronic (long-term) respiratory condition in which airways narrow, swell, and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty in breathing.
Derisone Respicaps is a combination of two medicines, namely: Beclometasone (corticosteroid) and Salbutamol (bronchodilator). Beclometasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by acting inside cells of the airways and stops the release of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammatory reactions. Thereby, provides relief from sneezing, runny or blocked nose and sinus discomfort. Salbutamol belongs to the class of bronchodilators that works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Thereby, it makes breathing easier. Derisone Respicaps is not for use in acute (short term) attacks, but for routine long-term (chronic) management of asthma related complications.
Use Derisone Respicaps as prescribed. Your doctor will recommend how often you use Derisone Respicaps based on your medical condition. Some people may experience fungal infection in the mouth, headache, hoarse voice, sore throat or tongue, runny nose, pain, shakiness in the legs, arms, feet or hands and fast heart rate. Most of these side effects of Derisone Respicaps do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Derisone Respicaps or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Derisone Respicaps . Derisone Respicaps is not recommended for children below 4 years of age. Use of Derisone Respicaps may worsen asthma symptoms in some patients. If you experience severe difficulty in breathing, please consult a doctor immediately so that alternative medicine may be prescribed. Regular monitoring of potassium levels is recommended while taking Derisone Respicaps as it may cause low potassium levels in the blood. If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, fits, chickenpox, measles, tuberculosis (TB), hypokalaemia (low potassium levels in the blood), immune system problem, osteoporosis (weak bones), glaucoma, cataracts, thyroid or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking Derisone Respicaps . Please do not use or store Derisone Respicaps near open flame or heat as it may burst the container.
