Colicaid Drops helps relieve digestive disorders like alleviating infant colic, griping pain, and flatulence. It contains Dil oil, fennel oil and simethicone. Simethicone works by altering the surface tension of gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines, allowing smaller bubbles to combine to generate larger bubbles. It makes it easier to get rid of gas by belching or passing flatus. Fennel and Dill oils help relieve stomach cramps and stimulate stomach and intestine motility, which helps move food through the digestive system. It may cause bloating, heartburn, dizziness, diarrhoea and constipation.

About Colicaid Drops

Colicaid Drops is used to alleviate infant colic, griping pain, and flatulence in children. Colic pain/abdominal pain occurs between the chest and pelvic regions. A griping pain is a sudden, sharp pain in your stomach or bowels. Flatulence is the accumulation of gas in the alimentary canal. If gas is caught or not travelling well through your digestive tract, it can cause pain.

Colicaid Drops contains Dil oil, fennel oil and simethicone. Simethicone is an antifoaming medication that breaks down gas bubbles and allows for simple gas transit. Dill oil and fennel oil are herbal medications that assist in pushing food through the digestive tract by increasing stomach and bowel motility and relieving gut muscular spasms. Thus, it alleviates colic discomfort, griping pain, and stomach gas reduction (flatulence).

Colicaid Drops is for paediatric use only. Give Colicaid Drops to children as advised by the doctor. In some cases, your child may experience certain common side effects, such as bloating, heartburn, dizziness, diarrhoea and constipation. Most of these side effects resolve on their own. If these side effects persist, stop using this medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

Before using Colicaid Drops, please inform the doctor of your children's medical conditions, sensitivities, and all drugs they are taking. Continue using Colicaid Drops for as long as the doctor has prescribed to treat your child's illness effectively. Do not use any other medications or supplements while using Colicaid Drops unless recommended by the doctor.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

Diet

  • Bland diet: If your child is experiencing an upset stomach, a bland diet can help settle it and ease symptoms. Bland foods are generally easy to digest and less likely to irritate the stomach. Some good examples of bland foods for children include bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, crackers, and yogurt.
  • Avoid irritants: Certain foods and drinks can irritate the stomach and worsen pain. These include greasy or fried foods, spicy foods, sugary drinks, and caffeine.
  • Stay hydrated. Dehydration can contribute to constipation and make stomach pain worse. Ensure your child drinks plenty of fluids throughout the day, especially if they are experiencing diarrhea or vomiting.
  • Probiotics: Probiotics are live bacteria that are similar to the beneficial bacteria that live in the intestines. Probiotics may help improve gut health and reduce stomach pain. You can find probiotics in yogurt, kefir, and some supplements.

Lifestyle:

  • Regular meals: Eating regular meals and snacks can help to regulate digestion and prevent stomach upset.
  • Small portions: Eating smaller meals more frequently may be easier on your child's stomach than eating large meals less often.
  • Manage stress: Stress can worsen stomach pain in some children. Helping your child find healthy ways to manage stress, such as relaxation techniques or exercise, may help improve their stomach health.
  • Regular exercise: Regular exercise can improve digestion and reduce stress, both of which can help prevent stomach pain.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Colic pain: It is a pain localized to the abdomen or urinary tract that often comes and goes.

Griping pain: A griping pain is a sudden, sharp pain in your stomach or bowels.
