About COFVYN TABLET

COFVYN TABLET belongs to the class of cough and cold medications primarily used to treat symptoms of the common cold such as sneezing, runny nose, congestion, stuffy nose, or watery eyes. The common cold is a respiratory illness affecting the nose and throat. It is mostly caused by viruses known as “rhinoviruses”. The virus enters the body through the nose, mouth, or eyes and spreads easily through droplets in the air when the person who is sick sneezes, coughs, or talks.

COFVYN TABLET is a combination of two drugs: Bronchoephedrine (mucolytic) and Pseudoephedrine (decongestant). Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent (cough/sputum thinner) that works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose. Pseudoephedrine belongs to the class of nasal decongestants that work by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels. Thus, it provides relief from a blocked nose.

Take COFVYN TABLET as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take COFVYN TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, sweating, rash, or sleeping difficulty. Most of these side effects of COFVYN TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to COFVYN TABLET or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. COFVYN TABLET is not recommended for children below 12 years of age, as the safety and effectiveness were not established. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before taking COFVYN TABLET. Drive only if you are alert as COFVYN TABLET may cause dizziness. You are advised not to consume alcohol with COFVYN TABLET as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.
