About Closol-CZ Cream
Closol-CZ Cream is a dermatological combination medication used to reduce swelling, itching, and redness caused due to certain fungal skin infections. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the skin tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another).
Closol-CZ Cream contains Clobetasol (corticosteroid), Miconazole (antifungal), and Zinc sulfate (antiseptic and astringent). Clobetasol belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by acting inside skin cells and inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such chemicals are released normally. The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stop the leakage of cell contents. Miconazole works by causing holes in the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Zinc sulfate has anti-inflammatory properties and relieves the redness, irritation, and scars caused by acne.
Closol-CZ Cream is only for external use. Take a small amount of Closol-CZ Cream on the finger and apply it as a thin layer on the clean and dry affected area. Avoid contact of Closol-CZ Cream with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case Closol-CZ Cream comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience dry skin, itching, irritation, redness, or burning sensation at the application site. Most of these side effects of Closol-CZ Cream do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Closol-CZ Cream or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Closol-CZ Cream. Do not use Closol-CZ Cream in more than prescribed doses or for prolonged periods as it may cause adverse effects. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with bandages unless your doctor advises. Avoid using Closol-CZ Cream for more than five days in children and on the face. Do not apply Closol-CZ Cream to broken skin or cuts. Do not swallow Closol-CZ Cream. In case of accidental swallowing, contact a nearby poison control centre or consult a doctor immediately. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames, as the Closol-CZ Cream catches fire and burns easily. If you have glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, psoriasis, adrenal gland, or liver problems, inform your doctor before taking Closol-CZ Cream.
