Cilapam FN Tablet is a combination of antipsychotic and antidepressant. It is used to treat schizophrenia and depression. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly. Depression is characterized by a persistently depressed mood that interferes with daily activities.
Cilapam FN Tablet is a combination of two drugs, Flupentixol and Nortriptyline. Flupentixol inhibits dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that influences thoughts and mood. Nortriptyline increases the amount of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that helps improve mood or mental balance.
Take Cilapam FN Tablet as prescribed by the doctor. Sometimes, Cilapam FN Tablet may cause common side effects such as feeling sick (nausea), feeling tired or weak, constipation, feeling dizzy, dry mouth, feeling sleepy, difficulty peeing, headaches, drowsiness or dizziness, lightheadedness, restlessness, or trouble sleeping. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
Before taking Cilapam FN Tablet , let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, sensitivities, and medications you are using. Even if you feel better, do not stop taking medication unless instructed by the doctor. Cilapam FN Tablet should not be used in pregnant women and children. Cilapam FN Tablet could affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. So, unless you are alert, do not drive or use machinery. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided while on treatment with Cilapam FN Tablet .
Cilapam FN Tablet is a medication that combines Flupentixol with Nortriptyline. Flupentixol works in the brain to block dopamine, a chemical messenger that regulates thoughts and mood. Nortriptyline raises serotonin levels in the brain, a natural substance that aids mental balance. As a result, Cilapam FN Tablet offers treatment for both Schizophrenia and Depression.
Do not use Cilapam FN Tablet if you are allergic to any components. Cilapam FN Tablet is not suitable for some people. To make sure it is safe for you, tell your doctor before taking Cilapam FN Tablet of all your medical conditions and medications you take. Let your doctor know if you have epilepsy or are having electroconvulsive treatment, have a heart problem, have ever taken any medicines for depression, have glaucoma, or are trying to become pregnant, already pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have diabetes or have thoughts about harming yourself or ending your life.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Cilapam FN Tablet may interact with certain central nervous system stimulant medications (e.g. amphetamine, dextroamphetamine, lisdexamfetamine), Certain antidepressant medications (duloxetine, cyclobenzaprine, escitalopram, fluoxetine).
Drug-Food Interactions: Limit or avoid the consumption of alcohol.
Drug-Disease Interactions: Cilapam FN Tablet may interact with certain disease conditions, including Anticholinergic effects, Cardiovascular disease, Pheochromocytoma, Acute myocardial infarction recovery, Cardiovascular disease, Depression, and Seizure disorders.
While using this medication, strictly follow your doctor's recommendations. Do not reduce the dose or discontinue the use even if you feel better. This may aggravate your condition.

Counselling (psychotherapy) and antidepressants can be used to treat depression.
