Cefqueen Tablet

Cefqueen Tablet belongs to a class of medication called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, blood, bones, joints, heart, lungs, brain, chest, ears, skin, or soft tissues. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Cefqueen Tablet does not work against infections caused by the virus.

Cefqueen Tablet contains Cefuroxime (antibiotic) and Lactobacillus (probiotic). Cefuroxime works by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) necessary for survival. Thereby damaging the bacterial cell wall and killing bacteria. Lactobacillus helps to restore good bacteria in the intestines. Thereby, it prevents diarrhoea and loss of beneficial bacteria due to the prolonged intake of antibiotics.

You are advised to take Cefqueen Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. Cefqueen Tablet may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, bloating, diarrhoea, allergic reaction, and increased liver enzymes. Most of these side effects of Cefqueen Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Cefqueen Tablet, penicillins, cephalosporin antibiotics, or any other medicines. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, inform your doctor before taking Cefqueen Tablet. Cefqueen Tablet is not recommended for infants below six months of age as the safety and effectiveness were not established. Drive only if you are alert, as Cefqueen Tablet may cause dizziness. People with liver and kidney problems should take Cefqueen Tablet with caution.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Cefqueen Tablet may interact with antibiotics (amikacin, chloramphenicol), birth control pills (ethinylestradiol), water pills (furosemide), and vaccines (cholera vaccine).

Drug-Disease Interactions: If you have diabetes, kidney or liver problems, a weak immune system, or inflammation of the large intestine, inform your doctor before taking Cefqueen Tablet.

• Take probiotics after completing the entire course of Cefqueen Tablet to restore some healthy bacteria in the intestines that may have been killed. Taking probiotics after antibiotic treatment can reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.
• Certain fermented foods like cheese, yoghurt, kombucha, sauerkraut, and kimchi can help restore the intestine's good bacteria.
• Include fibre-rich foods, as they can be easily digested by your gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Whole grains such as brown rice and whole-grain bread should be included in your diet.
• Make sure you drink plenty of water or other fluids daily while taking Cefqueen Tablet.
• Avoid alcohol consumption.

You are recommended to complete the full course with Cefqueen Tablet as prescribed by your doctor for effective results.
