Cefi XL 200 Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, ears, nose, throat, chest, and lungs. Bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Cefi XL 200 Tablet does not work against infections caused by the virus.

Cefi XL 200 Tablet contains Cefixime, Dicloxacillin and Lactic acid bacillus. Cefixime and Dicloxacillin work by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) necessary for their survival, thereby killing bacteria. Lactic acid bacillus belongs to the class of probiotics (live microorganisms that keeps the body healthy) that help to restore good bacteria in the intestines. Thus, it prevents diarrhoea and loss of beneficial bacteria due to prolonged intake of antibiotics.

Take Cefi XL 200 Tablet as prescribed. You are advised to take Cefi XL 200 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your medical condition. Sometimes you may experience vomiting, nausea, dizziness, diarrhoea, stomach pain, indigestion, gas, headache, or vaginal itching. Most of these side effects of Cefi XL 200 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Cefi XL 200 Tablet , penicillin, or other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Cefi XL 200 Tablet . Dicloxacillin may reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. Hence, consult your doctor for other contraceptive methods, such as using non-hormonal birth control measures that include condoms, spermicide, or diaphragm. Drive only if you are alert, as Cefi XL 200 Tablet may decrease alertness, cause confusion, unusual muscle movements, or stiffness.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Cefi XL 200 Tablet may interact with a blood thinner (warfarin), water tablet (furosemide), antibiotic (azithromycin), steroids (dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, prednisone), and immunosuppressants (tacrolimus, ciclosporin).

Taking probiotics after antibiotic treatment can reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Certain fermented foods like cheese, yoghurt, kombucha, sauerkraut, and kimchi can help restore the intestine's good bacteria.
• Include fibre-rich foods, as they can be easily digested by your gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Whole grains such as whole-grain bread and brown rice should be included in your diet.
• Make sure you drink plenty of water or other fluids every day while you are taking Cefi XL 200 Tablet .
• Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase adverse effects.
