Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection is an antibiotic medication used to treat bacterial infections. It contains Cefepime and Sulbactam. Cefepime prevents the formation of the bacterial protective covering that is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. About Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection

Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection contains Cefepime and Sulbactam. Cefepime prevents the formation of the bacterial protective covering that is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam enhances the activity of Cefepime against bacteria and decreases bacterial resistance. Together, Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection helps to treat bacterial infections.

What if I have taken an overdose of Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection

As Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection is a parenteral formulation, the chance of overdose may be less. Symptoms of overdose may include seizures, muscle shakes and spasms, confusion, hallucinations and coma.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Cefesul 1.5 gm Injection 1's and Cholera vaccines together can evidently cause an interaction, it can be taken if your doctor has suggested it. Make sure to inform the doctor if you are on Cholera vaccine dose or you have already taken it. You should wait at least 14 days after finishing your antibiotic treatment before receiving the cholera vaccine in order to ensure an appropriate immune response. In case of any unusual side effects, consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without a doctor's advice.
