Canacrom-T Kit

Canacrom-T Kit belongs to a class of medication called anti-infectives used to treat various fungal and bacterial infections. Also, Canacrom-T Kit may be used to treat infections such as giardiasis and amoebiasis (stomach infections), and trichomoniasis (genital infection) caused by protozoa. Fungal infection is a disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may affect the skin and spread into bones, tissues, organs, or the whole body. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly.

Canacrom-T Kit is a combination of two drugs, namely: Fluconazole (antifungal) and Tinidazole (antiprotozoal). The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stop the leakage of cell contents. Fluconazole belongs to the class of antifungals that works by damaging the fungal cell membranes and killing fungi. Tinidazole belongs to the class of antiprotozoals that works by damaging the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria and protozoa and inhibits the formation of new DNA. Thereby, killing micro-organisms and clearing the infection.

Take Canacrom-T Kit as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Canacrom-T Kit for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, headache, skin rash or itching, loss of appetite, stomach pain, or cramps. Most of these side effects of Canacrom-T Kit do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Canacrom-T Kit or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid taking Canacrom-T Kit if you are pregnant or a nursing mother and consult a doctor. Tinidazole may affect fertility in both men and women. Therefore, please consult a doctor if you are planning for pregnancy before taking Canacrom-T Kit. Drive only if you are alert as Canacrom-T Kit may cause drowsiness, dizziness, numbness, or weakness. Do not drink alcohol with Canacrom-T Kit as it may cause adverse effects such as severe nausea, vomiting, sweating, fast heartbeats, tingling, or warmth under the skin.

Avoid taking Canacrom-T Kit with erythromycin, pimozide, cisapride, quinidine, terfenadine, and astemizole as it may cause adverse effects.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Canacrom-T Kit may interact with a blood thinner (warfarin), antibiotics (rifampicin, erythromycin, rifabutin, nitrofurantoin), antidepressants (nortriptyline, amitriptyline), antifungals (voriconazole, amphotericin B), benzodiazepines (triazolam, midazolam), anticonvulsants (phenytoin, carbamazepine), pain relievers (ibuprofen, lornoxicam, meloxicam, diclofenac, celecoxib, flurbiprofen, naproxen), antiallergic drugs (astemizole, terfenadine), antipsychotic drug (pimozide), drug for stomach upset (cisapride), medicines used to lower high blood pressure (verapamil, felodipine, losartan, nifedipine, isradipine, amlodipine), antiarrhythmic agent (quinidine), anticancer drug (ibrutinib, olaparib), antiasthma drug (theophylline), anti-HIV drugs (saquinavir, zidovudine), antidiabetics (glibenclamide, glipizide, chlorpropamide, tolbutamide).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid drinking beer, wine or spirits while taking Canacrom-T Kit and for 3 days after treatment with Canacrom-T Kit as it may cause stomach cramps, pounding heart, stomach cramps, or flushing (sudden feeling of warmth).

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have adrenal insufficiency (adrenal glands do not produce sufficient amounts of steroid hormones), abnormal levels of calcium, magnesium, or potassium, a blood disorder, fits, kidney, liver or heart problems inform your doctor before taking Canacrom-T Kit.

• Regularly change your socks and wash your feet. Avoid shoes that make your feet sweaty and hot.
• In wet places such as changing rooms and gym showers, don’t walk on barefoot. Wear flip-flops or sandals to prevent fungal infections.
• Do not scratch the affected area of skin as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
• Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, shoes or socks with others to prevent the spread of infection.
• Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.
• Avoiding getting in contact with harsh soaps, detergents and rough fabrics.
• Include fiber rich foods, as it can be easily digested by your gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Thus, fiber rich foods may help restore healthy gut bacteria after a course of antibiotics. Whole grains such as brown rice, whole grain bread should be included in your diet.
• Make sure you drink plenty of water or other fluids every day while you are taking Canacrom-T Kit.
• Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase adverse effects.

• Please consult a doctor if the infection persists or worsens after using Canacrom-T Kit for 1 week.
• Do not use Canacrom-T Kit for all the viral infections.

Bacteria come in three basic shapes, namely spherical, rod, or spiral-shaped. Bacteria may be gram-positive (have thick cell walls) or gram-negative (do not have cell walls). Appropriate tests are done to identify bacterial strains and based on the results, proper medication is prescribed. Some common symptoms of bacterial infection include cough, fever, and tiredness.
