Calciwave Nasal Spray 60 MDI is primarily indicated for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis in women more than five years postmenopause when alternative therapies are unsuitable. Post-menopausal osteoporosis is a medical condition that causes thinning and weakening of the bones during/after a menopausal period.

Calciwave Nasal Spray 60 MDI contains Calcitonin, a human hormone that prevents bone breakdown and increases bone density (thickness). Thus, it helps treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

Use Calciwave Nasal Spray 60 MDI as prescribed by the doctor. Calciwave Nasal Spray 60 MDI may cause certain side effects such as hypocalcemia, runny nose, nosebleed, sinus pain, application site reactions such as rhinitis (stuffy nose), epistaxis (nose bleeds) and other nasal symptoms, back pain, arthralgia (Joint pain) and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Calciwave Nasal Spray 60 MDI is for intranasal use only; do not inject or take it orally. Before using Calciwave Nasal Spray 60 MDI, inform your doctor of all your medical conditions, sensitivities, and medications. Avoid drinking alcohol because it affects how the body absorbs calcium and vitamin D, which are essential for good bone formation.

Insert the tip of the bottle into a nostril while closing the other nostril and spray towards the sides of the nostril. Keep your head straight and breathe gently. Repeat the same process for another nostril.

Thereby, Calciwave Nasal Spray 60 MDI strengthens the bones and minimizes the risk of fractures. Calciwave Nasal Spray 60 MDI also seems to decrease the amount of calcium the kidneys can re-absorb, lowering calcium levels further.

• Exposure to sunlight helps synthesise vitamin D, which is essential for strong bones and muscles.
• Eating vitamin-D-rich foods such as egg yolks, salmon, oily fish like sardines, and mackerel.
• Indulging in regular exercise to prevent bone loss. Activities include brisk walking, dancing, jogging, and strength training exercises like lifting weights and using weight machines or elastic bands.
• Engaging in activities for stress relief, such as meditation and yoga.
• Preserving a healthy weight eases pressure on the bones.
